Announcing Capital Bike
In 2019 the Greater Victoria Bike to Work Society and Greater Victoria Cycling Coalition merged, creating a new organization. In 2021 we have officially launched Capital Bike: a non-profit dedicated to advocacy, education, and celebration of all things bike.

Exciting news as View Royal, Esquimalt, Oak Bay and Sidney have all joined Saanich and Victoria in the 30 km/h pilot project. This means the entirety of the region’s core will be covered, as well as part of the peninsula. Sadly both Central and North Saanich declined to join, but there is still time to convince both.

With Saanich, Victoria and View Royal all saying yes to a 30 km/h pilot on our residential streets, attention now turns to the rest of the region. This Monday Sidney, Central Saanich, Esquimalt and Oak Bay are all talking about joining the 30 km/h pilot. So if you live or work in these municipalities, now is the time to let your council know that you support 30 km/h.
