The Greater Victoria Cycling Coalition is seeking a responsible, motivated Summer Event & Outreach Coordinator!

Do you live in Greater Victoria? Do you like biking? Are you interested in helping a local, cycling advocacy organization grow and expand? This could be the opportunity for you! Submit your resume to as soon as possible!



  • Coordinate volunteers and materials for GVCC booths at events and our new bike valet services this summer, including:
    • Promoting the new bike valet services to local event organizers.
    • Arranging for storage and transportation of the bike racks, cargo bike, tent, membership cards, petitions, email sign up sheets, and related materials to and from events.
    • Coordinating volunteers to ensure coverage throughout the events. (Your attendance at the events is not required. Volunteer training will be done by board members, and we have a list of interested volunteers to draw from. You may need to recruit and train additional volunteers.)
    • Developing engaging activities to draw interest to GVCC’s booth, engage new members and supporters, and connect with our social media presence.
    • Ensuring all required materials are refilled before events.
    • Ensuring all donations, memberships, purchases, email sign ups and petitions, etc. collected at events are conveyed to the appropriate GVCC representatives.
    • Tracking all relevant event information (volunteer schedules, event calendar, etc.) on the GVCC’s shared Google Drive.
  • Grow our organizational capacity by:
    • Creating a written manual about best practices for preparing for and running the GVCC booth, including how to best grow our membership and e-news lists at events.
    • Making recommendations about improving the social enterprise potential of our bike valet services.
    • Maintaining and improving our volunteer list.
  • Report regularly back to the Board of Directors
    • Informal weekly emails/conversation with board liaison
    • Monthly written and in-person report to the board (usually Thursday evenings downtown).
  • Other tasks as directed by the board.


  • Friendly, engaging manner with volunteers
  • Self-motivated and organized
  • Access to a bike trailer, car share, and/or personal vehicle would be an asset
  • Ability to work with Google Drive, Google Docs, and Google Spreadsheets is a requirement
  • Must live in Greater Victoria
  • Must have own phone and computer


$20/hour, up to 40 hours per month, for a total of three months. This opportunity has the possibility of extension.

Start date: As soon as possible

End date: Three months after start date, with possibility of extension
