The province is embarking on a provincial Active Transportation Plan and they’re asking you want to see . We’re excited to see this new plan, but it won’t be great without your voice.

Add your voice below and make sure you let them know about your priorities. Stuck for ideas? Here are the big moves we are asking for:

  • Provide at least $20 per person per year for build new bikeways, matching investments from the City of Victoria (which has spent ~30 per person per year) and other local governments
  • Invest at least $2 per person per year in promoting bikes and providing bike education through programs like Bike to Work and School Weeks or bike training in schools
  • Remove PST from electric-assist bicycles. This will help cycling become more accessible to older folks, families with cargo bikes, people traveling long distances
  • Update the BC Motor Vehicle Act to provide a better legal environment for vulnerable road users, following the BC Road Safety Law Reform Group (which the GVCC is part of)
